My research interests broadly fit within the intersection of social, cultural, and clinical psychology. Funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC), my graduate work will examine mental health among youth from IRER (immigrant, refugee, ethno-cultural, and racialized) backgrounds.
I am also collaborating with Dr. Debra Titone from McGill University on several projects investigating bi- and multilinguals' social networks.
-
Mental Illness Stigma
How do IRER youths' implicit and explicit biases towards mental illness influence their well-being and help-seeking behaviour?
-
Racial Bias
Do IRER youths' experiences of racial discrimination interact with mental illness stigma to jointly predict well-being and help-seeking?
-
Social Networks
How do social networks play a role in IRER youths' well-being? How do social networks shape bi- and multilingual language experience?
